CD-3312 (140-0537) Power Source Faxback Doc. # 6485 USING AC POWER To power the CD-3312 from standard AC power, plug the supplied AC power cord into the AC IN-jack on the left side, then plug the other end into a standard AC outlet. Note: The CD-3312 automatically disconnects the internal batteries when you connect the AC power cord. USING BATTERIES You can power the CD-3312 from 6 D batteries (not supplied). For the best results, we recommend alkaline batteries (such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-550). If the CD-3312 does not operate properly or if the sound weakens or distorts, replace the batteries. 1. Press the two latches on the battery compartment cover and pull out the cover in the direction of the arrows to remove it. 2. Remove the old batteries. Cautions: Always dispose of the old batteries promptly and properly. Never leave dead, old, or weak batteries in the CD-3312. They can leak chemicals and corrode or damage electronic circuits. 3. Place the 6 D batteries in the compartment as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -) marked above the compartment. Cautions: Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type. Never mix fresh with old batteries. If you do not plan to use the CD-3312 for a month or more, or if you plan to use the external AC power cord, remove the batteries to protect the CD-3312 from possible battery leakage. 4. Replace the battery compartment cover. USING AN AC INVERTER You can power the CD-3312 from your car battery using a DC-to AC Inverter (such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 22-132, not supplied). Plug the CD player's AC power cord into the AC IN-jack and the inverter's DC plug into your car's cigarette lighter socket. (LB/smc-05/16/94)
