PIR Alarm (490-0320A) Operation Faxback Doc. # 6619 TURNING ON THE ALARM After you test the covered area and position the alarm as desired, set ALARM to ARM to turn on the alarm. After a 20-second exit delay, the alarm can detect intruders. SOUNDING THE ALARM If someone enters the protected area after the exit delay, the alarm sounds instantly if ENTRY DELAY is set to INST or 15 seconds after the sensor detects motion if ENTRY DELAY is set to DELAY. Note: When ENTRY DELAY is set to DELAY, the alarm sounds after the delay even if the intruder has left the covered area. The alarm sounds for about 5 minutes (unless you turn off the alarm). Then, the alarm does one of the following: * If the sensor does not detect someone at the end of the 5 minutes, the alarm resets and is ready to sound again in case of another intrusion. * If the sensor still detects an intruder after the 5-minute alarm, the alarm sounds again for 5 minutes. It sounds instantly if ENTRY DELAY is set to INST or after 15 seconds if ENTRY DELAY is set to DELAY. TURNING OFF THE ALARM To turn off the alarm, set ALARM to OFF or use the remote switch (if you installed one). (br/all-6/27/94)
