7-Band Car Equalizer (120-1973) Portable CD Player Faxback Doc. # 6629 CONNECTING A PORTABLE CD PLAYER You can connect a portable CD player (other audio component that has a headphone jack) to the equalizer so you can listen to it through your autosound system. This requires a patch cord that has a 1/8-inch stereo plug at one end and a stereo plug that fits the CD player's or the component's headphone jack at the other end. Patch cords are available at your local Radio Shack store. Follow these steps to connect a CD player or other audio component. Turn off the equalizer and the CD player/component. 2. Connect the patch cord's 1/8-inch plug to the equalizer's CD jack. Then plug the cord's other end into the CD player/component's headphone jack. This disconnects audio input from the radio/cassette player. 3. Set the CD player/component's volume control to a low level. 4. Turn on the equalizer and the CD player/component. 5. Adjust the CD player/component's volume. 6. Adjust the equalizer's slide controls. To listen to the radio/cassette player, disconnect the CD player/component. (br/all-06/28/94)
