Six-In-One Remote Control (150-1905) Operation Faxback Doc. # 6661 To use the 6-in-1, do the following: 1. Press the device key for the device you want to control. 2. Point the 6-in-1 toward the device and press POWER to turn on the device. 3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for other devices. 4. Point the 6-in-1 toward the device you want to control and press the desired command keys. (The command keys on the 6-in-1 work the same as the keys on the device's original remote control; however, the labeling might differ slightly.) 5. To turn off the last device you selected, press POWER. To turn off other devices, press the device selection key for the device you want to turn off, and then press POWER. Punch Through The punch through feature lets you alternately control two different devices without pressing the device keys for each one. Here's how it works. Not all of the 6-in-1's keys are used by any one device. For example, a TV is often the only device that uses the volume keys and a VCR is usually the only device that uses the keys such as REW, FAST F, and so on. When you press TV and then press VCR, the functions of any keys not used by the VCR retain their TV functions. The punch through feature does not work if the last two devices you select have the same (or similar) features. For example, most TVs and VCRs have CHANNEL keys on their remote controls. In this case, you would have to press the desired device key before you use the 6-in-1's CHANNEL keys. Alternate Functions The 6-in-1 will usually reproduce many commonly used keys of the original remote control. Some remote controls may be more complex than others. There may be specialized keys, or additional keys (more than the 6-in-1 has). The 6-in-1 can still reproduce many of these keys through alternate Function keys. Locate the 3-digit manufacturers' code for the desired device. There are 2 columns. Find the original remote control's function key in the left column, and directly across will be the 6-in-1's alternate function key. Sleep Key Your 6-in-1 has a feature that allows you to turn off devices in the amount of time that you specify in minutes (0-99). Press: MODE-SLEEP-(digit)-(digit) and leave your remote pointing in the direction of the device. The LED on the top of the 6-in-1 flashes every few seconds to let you know that the SLEEP key has been activated. To cancel the SLEEP function, press: MODE-SLEEP-0-0 Note that the AUX 1 key will only accept devices that do not have mechanical functions (i.e., play, rewind, fast forward, etc). This protects devices programmed under that key from being shut off by the Sleep feature. (br/all-7/11/94)
