DMP-207 (260-2917) Paper Parking Faxback Doc. # 6685 Paper parking is a convenient feature that allows you to switch quickly between continuous-feed paper and the automatic sheet feeder. It works by backing the continuous paper out of the printer to where it is no longer touching the platen. However, the paper remains in the tractor feeders, ready to feed into the printer. To park your continuous paper: 1. After the current job finishes, tear off the paper after the last page. Press the ON/OFF LINE key to take the printer off line. 2. Press the LOAD/PARK key to retract the paper to the park position. The printer reverse feeds the paper a maximum of the current page length plus 6 inches. 3. Disengage the tractor unit by moving the tractor lever forward. You can now feed single sheets into the printer with the automatic sheet feeder or with manual feeder. When you are ready to switch back to continuous paper follow these steps: 1. Eject a single sheet of paper (if one remains inserted) by taking the printer off line and pressing the LOAD/PARK key. 2. Move the tractor lever rearward to engage the tractor unit. 3. Press the LOAD/PARK key. The tractor loads the paper and advances it to the top-of-form position. (LG/all-06/28/94)
