Mini Stereo (130-1270) Installation Faxback Doc. # 6738 Component System NOTES: Properly make all connections as shown before you plug in and turn on the system. We recommend you place a cloth or other protective material under the system and the speakers when you place them on a desk or table top with a natural oil or lacquer finish. 1. Connect the dipole antenna and fully extend it. 2. Plug the left speaker's wire into the SPEAKER L jack on the system. Plug the right speaker's wire into the SPEAKER R jack. SPEAKER PLACEMENT: For the best stereo separation, place the speakers 5 - 10 feet apart, facing your listening position and as close to ear level as possible. 3. Connect optional equipment to the CD/AUX L and R jacks. 4. Plug the system's AC power cord into a 110-120 VAC wall outlet. 5. Plug the AC power cords of any optional equipment into an appropriate power outlet. NOTE: Save the original packing material your unit came in. These materials provide the best protection for the system when it is moved or should it become necessary to return it for service. OPERATING THE REMOTE CONTROL The remote control lets you turn the system on and off, adjust the volume, or mute the sound from virtually anywhere in the room. It also controls the CD player's skip, play/pause, and stop function. Installing Batteries The remote control is powered by two AAA batteries (not included). Insert the batteries as shown, making sure polarity is as shown inside the compartment, (+ to + and - to -). For the best operation and longest life, we recommend you use alkaline batteries, such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-555. Replace the batteries when operation becomes erratic or after about one year to ensure continued good performance. USING THE REMOTE CONTROL UNIT NOTE: The remote control uses an infrared beam which is not affected by noise or other interference.
