Mini Stereo (130-1270) Troubleshooting Faxback Doc. # 6740 Component System PROBLEM CAUSE/REMEDY No power to system even with Power plug not connected properly. power on. Check AC power cord. CD player does not operate 1. Set FUNCTION to CD/AUX. when buttons are pressed. 2. Press STOP once, then press PLAY/PAUSE. 3. Set FUNCTION to TAPE or TUNER, wait 10 seconds, then set it back to CD/AUX to clear the microprocessor. 4. Make sure a CD is loaded. Disc rotates but no sound is 1. VOLUME is at its minimum heard setting. Adjust the VOLUME. 2. Be sure MUTE is not on. 3. Headphones connected. Dis- connect. Disc will not play when you press 1. Disc is dirty or bent. PLAY/PAUSE. The hole for each side must be covered separately. Will not record from TUNER or CD/AUX. HSD (hi-speed dubbing) is ON. Set the switch to OFF. Tape does not run. PAUSE is pressed. Release PAUSE. Tape runs but no sound is heard. 1. VOLUME is at its minimum setting. Adjust the VOLUME. 2. FUNCTION is not set to TAPE. 3. Be sure MUTE is not on. 4. Headphones are connected. Disconnect. Cassette sounds weak or distorted. Dirty record/play head. Clean the record/play head. (See "Cleaning the Tape Deck"). Cassette recording is weak and Dirty record/play or erase distorted or previous recording heads. Clean the record/play cannot be erased. and erase heads. (See "Cleaning the Tape Deck.")
