Razer (600-4134) Battery Faxback Doc. # 6746 TRANSMITTER BATTERY The transmitter requires one 9-volt battery. We recommend an alkaline battery, such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-553. 1. Press (down arrow) PUSH on the battery compartment cover and slide the cover in the direction of the arrow. 2. Snap the battery into the terminals inside the compartment. 3. Replace the cover so it snaps into place. Notes: If the truck's operation becomes erratic or its range decreases, replace the battery. If you do not plan to use the transmitter for a week or more, remove and store the battery. TRUCK BATTERIES The truck requires six AA batteries. We recommend nickel-cadmium batteries, (Cat. No. 23-125) and a nickel-cadmium battery charger (Cat. No. 23-133). You can use alkaline batteries, but they quickly lose their power if you frequently use the truck's high-speed setting. CAUTION: Do not mix alkaline and nickel-cadmium batteries, and do not mix nickle-cadmium batteries of different capacities. Doing so could damage the truck. Follow these steps to install the truck's batteries. 1. Set ON/OFF to OFF. 2. Turn the latch on the battery compartment cover counterclockwise, then lift the cover. 3. Install the batteries as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -) marked inside the compartment. 4. Replace the cover and turn the latch clockwise to secure it. NOTES: If operation becomes erratic or the operating range decreases, re- charge all six nickel-cadmium batteries or replace all six alkaline batteries. Follow the charger's instructions to charge nickel-cadmium batteries. If you plan not to use the truck for a week or more, remove and store the batteries. NOTE: This truck is capable of using rechargeable nickel-cadmium batteries. At the end of the batteries' useful life, they must be recycled or disposed of properly. Contact the local county or state hazardous waste management authorities for information on recycling or disposal programs in your area. Some options that might be available are: municipal curb-side collection, drop-off boxes at retailers, recycling collection centers, and mail-back programs. (CJD/all-8/18/94)
