In low-light areas, your calculator is powered by 389A battery (Radio
Shack Cat. No. 23-117).  When the display becomes dim or operation slows
in low light, replace the battery as follows.

1.  Remove the two lower screws from the back cover, using a small 
    Phillips screwdriver.

2.  Insert a small flat-bladed screwdriver between the case halves at each 
    arrow.  Slightly twist the screwdriver to separate the front and back
    cases.

3.  Remove the old battery.

WARNING:  Always dispose of the battery promptly and properly.  Keep
          it out of the hands of children.  Swallowing the battery can be
          fatal.  Never dispose of the battery in fire.

4.  Install a new battery with the positive (+) side up.  Always handle
    the battery by the edge, and wipe the battery with a soft cloth before
    you install it.

5.  Insert the lower case's tabs into the upper case, and snap the two
    halves together.  Then, replace the screws.
