Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer (630-0869) Display Faxback Doc. # 6794 Temperature Display The temperature display normally updates every 10 seconds. However, in the case of a rapid temperature change, it will take the thermometer several minutes to fully register the new temperature. For example, if the outdoor temperature drops suddenly from 73 degrees F/23 degrees C to 59 degrees F/ 15 degrees C, the thermometer display may show 68 degrees F/20 degrees C at the next update, then 63 degrees F/17 degrees C a minute or so later, until the new temperature of 59 degrees F/15 degrees C is reached. Temperature Ranges Because indoor temperatures vary less than outdoor temperatures, the indoor and outdoor temperature display ranges are slightly different. When the indoor temperature is above 122 degrees F/50 Degrees C or below 23 degrees F/-5 degrees C, the display blanks out or shows all symbols. When the outdoor temperature is above 158 degrees F/70 degrees C, HHH appears on the display. When the outdoor temperature is below -58 degrees F/-50C, LLL appears on the display. Note: When the indoor or outdoor temperatures return to within the measurement range, the LCD display automatically returns to normal. Temperature Memory The thermometer automatically stores in memory the highest and lowest indoor and outdoor temperatures since you last reset the thermometer or replaced the batteries. Reading the Recorded Temperatures To display the highest or lowest recorded temperatures, press MAX or MIN. The highest or lowest recorded temperatures appear on the display. To return the display to the current indoor and outdoor temperatures, press MAX or MIN again. MAX or MIN disappears from the display and the current indoor and outdoor temperatures reappear on the display. Clearing the Recorded Temperatures Press RESET to clear the highest and lowest temperature measurements from the thermometers memory. MAX, MIN and -1888 appear on the display for about 3 seconds. Then the current temperature readings reappear on the display. (br/all-7/12/94)
