SelectaCom (430-0219) Maintenance Faxback Doc. # 6853 The SELECTaCOM 3-Channel intercom is an example of superior design and craftsmanship. The following suggestions will help you care for the intercom system so that you can enjoy it for years. Keep the stations dry. If the stations do get wet, wipe them dry immediately. Liquids might contain minerals that can corrode the electronic circuits. Use and store the stations only in normal temperature environments. Temperature extremes can shorten the life of electronic devices, damage batteries, and distort or melt plastic parts. Handle the stations gently and carefully. Dropping them can damage the circuit boards and can cause the stations to work improperly. Keep the stations away from dust and dirt, which can cause premature wear of parts. Wipe the stations with a dampened cloth occasionally to keep them looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to clean the stations. Modifying or tampering with the stations' internal components can cause a malfunction and might invalidate the intercom's warranty and void your FCC authorization to operate it. If your intercom is not performing as it should, take it to your local Radio Shack store for assistance. THE FCC WANTS YOU TO KNOW The intercom might cause TV or radio interference even when it is operating properly. To determine whether the intercom is causing the interference, turn off the stations. If the interference goes away, the intercom is causing the interference. Try to eliminate the interference by: Moving your stations away from the receiver. Connecting your stations to an outlet that is on a different electrical circuit from the receiver. (br/all-7/6/94)
