TRC-509 (210-0409) Maintenance Faxback Doc. # 6859 The Radio Shack TRC-509 FM Walkie-Talkie is an example of superior design and craftsmanship. The following suggestions will help you care for the walkie-talkie so you can enjoy it for years. Keep the walkie-talkie dry. If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately. Liquids can contain minerals that can corrode electronic circuits. Use and store the walkie-talkie only in normal temperature environments. High temperatures can shorten the life of electronic devices and distort or melt plastic parts. Handle the walkie-talkie gently and carefully. Dropping it can damage circuit boards and cases and can cause the walkie-talkie to work improperly. Keep the walkie talkie away from dust and dirt, which can cause premature wear of parts. Wipe the walkie-talkie with a damp cloth to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to clean the walkie-talkie. Use only a fresh 9-volt battery. Always dispose of the old battery promptly and properly. Modifying or tampering with the walkie-talkie's internal components can cause a malfunction and might invalidate the walkie-talkie's warranty and void your FCC authorization to operate it. If the walkie-talkie is not performing as it should, take it to your local Radio Shack store for assistance. FCC NOTICE The walkie-talkie might cause TV or radio interference even when it is operating properly. To determine whether the walkie-talkie is causing the interference, turn off the walkie-talkie. If the interference goes away, the walkie-talkie is causing the interference. Try to eliminate the interference by: Moving the walkie talkie away from the receiver. Contacting your local Radio Shack store for help. If you cannot eliminate the interference, the FCC requires that you stop using the walkie-talkie. (br/all-7/12/94)
