SCP-60 (140-1200) Preparation Faxback Doc. # 6884 INSTALLING/REPLACING THE BATTERIES The cassette player is powered by two AA batteries (not supplied). For the best results, we recommend alkaline batteries such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-552. When the volume weakens or the sound distorts, replace the batteries. 1. Slide the battery compartment cover in the direction of the arrow and remove the cover. 2. If necessary, remove and discard the old batteries. Warnings: Always dispose of old batteries promptly and properly. Never leave dead, old, or weak batteries in the cassette player. They can leak chemicals and corrode or damage electronic circuits. 3. Place two fresh AA batteries in the compartment as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and -) marked inside the compartment. Cautions: Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type. Never mix fresh and old batteries. If you do not plan to use the cassette player for a month or more, remove and store the batteries. 4. Replace the cover. SETTING THE TIME 1. Set TAPE (RADIO OFF)/RADIO to TAPE (RADIO OFF). Note: You can enter the time setting mode only when the radio is off. 2. Press MODE twice to enter the time setting mode. The current time flashes on the display. Note: If you do not press HOUR or MINUTE within about 10 seconds while in the time setting mode, the clock returns to the clock display mode. 3. Press and hold down HOUR to set the hour. 4. Press and hold down MIN to set the minutes. 5. Press MODE once. The time stops flashing on the display. (br/all-7/7/94)
