Electronic Reverb (320-1110A) Favorite Effects Faxback Doc. # 6999 REVERB You can create reverb by using a moderate-to-short delay time (DELAY control setting of 4-7). You can use reverb to simulate the characteristic live sound of a large auditorium. ECHO You can create echo by using a relatively long delay time (DELAY control setting near 10). You can vary the REPEAT and DEPTH settings to achieve the desired effect. FLANGING This effect was originally achieved by applying varying hand pressure to the flange of a tape reel during recording or playback. To achieve a flanging effect, vary the DELAY control setting in the low range (0 to 4) while varying the DEPTH control from minimum to maximum. The REPEAT control remains at 0. DOUBLING Doubling yields a sound similar to overdubbing, or recording one sound on top of another. Set the DELAY control in the midrange (3 to 7). Set the REPEAT control at 0. The DEPTH control should be set high (8 to 10) and remain constant. SLAP-BACK Slap-back uses a DELAY control setting of 60-80 milliseconds (a setting of about 8). You can vary the REPEAT and DEPTH controls to enhance this effect. You can use the DELAY, REPEAT, and DEPTH controls to create hundreds of variations on these effects. (smm 03/03/94)
