Caller ID System 320 (430-0957) Operation Faxback Doc. # 7018 Caller ID is a service provided by your telephone company. When Caller ID is activated, the telephone company sends the caller's telephone number and the call's date and time through the telephone wiring between the first and second rings. In some areas, the caller's name is also sent. As the Radio Shack Caller ID system receives the information, it displays it and also stores it in memory. The Caller ID system can receive and store up to 99 incoming number-only calls or 75 incoming name and number calls. After the first ring, NEW CALLS and the call information appear on the display. If you choose not to answer the call, NEW CALLS flashes until you retrieve your messages. The system also displays special indicators to let you know if the call is a long-distance call, if the call was forwarded to your phone, or if the call did not include caller ID information. It even lets you know if you have a message waiting ( if you subscribe to the telephone company's message waiting service). You can use the system to quickly review your call information, and you can delete call information after you no longer need it. ADJUSTING THE DISPLAY CONTRAST 1.
