SETTING UP THE TRC-463

CAUTIONS:

-The supplied magnetic-mount antenna is designed for use on a vehicle
 which is stopped.  To use the TRC-463 in a moving vehicle, you need a
 mobile CB antenna, which you can purchase at your local Radio Shack
 store.

-Do not use the TRC-463 when no antenna is attached to it.

-Power the TRC-463 only from a vehicle that has a 12-volt, negative-ground
 electrical system.  Most vehicles have this type of system.  If you are
 not sure about your vehicle's system, check with the vehicle dealer.

Follow these steps to set up the TRC-463

1.  Open the carrying case  and remove the antenna.  Screw the antenna
    into its base.  Then fully extend the antenna and place the base on a
    metal surface on the vehicle.

The roof is the best antenna location be cause the higher the antenna,
the better your reception.  If the vehicle has a vinyl or cloth roof,
you can place the antenna on the hood or fender.

2.  Plug the antenna's cord into the TRC-463's ANTENNA jack.

3.  Insert the DC adapter's smaller plug into the TRC-463's POWER 12V
    DC jack.

4.  Insert the adapters larger plug into your vehicle's cigarette lighter
    socket.
