When the time announcement becomes garbled or the display becomes dim
or blank, replace the batteries with two 357 type batteries.  For the
longest battery life, we recommend a Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-105.

Follow these steps to replace the batteries.

1.  Use a Phillip's screwdriver to unscrew the two screws on the back
    case.

2.  Carefully twist the keychain to separate the front and back cases.

3.  Replace the old batteries with new ones, as indicated by the polarity
    symbols (+ and -) marked inside the compartment.

4.  Replace the keychain on its post.

5.  Put the two cases back together and secure the two screws.

NOTE:  If the display is blank after you install the batteries, check
       the installation.  If the installation is correct and the display
       is still blank, the batteries might be weak or dead.  Replace the
       batteries with fresh ones.

WARNING:  Always dispose of the batteries promptly and properly.  Keep
          them out of the reach of children.  If a battery is swallowed,
          promptly consult a physician or a local poison control center.
          Never dispose of the batteries in fire.
