Caller ID System 250 (430-0956) Features Faxback Doc. # 7123 The Radio Shack Caller ID System 250 is the latest in telephone technology. When you order the Caller ID service, the telephone company sends the caller's name, telephone number, the date, and the time of the call between the first and second rings. The module displays and stores this information. The module has these features: Easy Installation - lets you quickly begin to use the module. 85-Call Memory - lets you review call information at any time. Large Display - makes it easy to see the caller information. Built-In Error Checking - ensures accurate information. Message Received Indicator - flashes when you get an anonymous call, have at least one new call you haven't reviewed, or when you have received voice mail. Note: You must use the optional AC adapter for the message received indicator to operate. You must subscribe to your telephone company's voice mail feature for voice mail alert. Contrast Control - lets you adjust the display contrast for the best readability. Bilingual Operation - lets you set the system to display special messages in either English or Spanish. This module has been tested and found to comply with all applicable UL standards. Notes: To use this module, you must be in an area where the Caller ID service is available, and you must subscribe to the service. The module only displays the name if your telephone company sends this information. FCC INFORMATION We have designed the module to conform to federal regulations, and you can connect it to most telephone lines. However, each system (and each device, such as a telephone or answering machine) that you connect to the telephone line draws power from the telephone line. We refer to this power draw as the device's ringer equivalence number, or REN. The REN is shown on the label on the bottom of the module. Note: You must not connect the system to: Coin-Operated systems Party-line systems Most electronic key telephone systems In the unlikely event that your system causes problems on the telephone line, the telephone company can disconnect your service. The telephone company attempts to notify you in advance. If advance notice is not practical, the telephone company notifies you as soon as possible and advises you of your right to file a complaint with the FCC. Also, the telephone company can make changes to its lines, equipment, operations, or procedures that could affect the operation of this module. The telephone company notifies you of these changes in advance, so you can take the necessary steps to prevent interruption of your telephone service. This module complies with the limits for a Class B device as specified in Part 15 of FCC Rules. These limits provide reasonable protection against radio and TV interference in a residential area. However, your module might cause TV or radio interference even when it is operating properly. To eliminate interference, you can try one or more of the following corrective measures. Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna Increase the distance between the module and the radio or TV Use different outlets for the module and the radio or TV Consult your local Radio Shack store or an experienced radio/TV technician if the problem continues.
