AM/FM Stereo Antenna (150-1832) Installation Faxback Doc. # 7189 Connecting the FM Antenna The stereo has either a 75-ohm F-connector or a 300-ohm twin-lead connector for the FM antenna. Follow the instructions appropriate to the type of connector the stereo has. Connecting a 75-Ohm FM Antenna Push the antenna cable's F-connector onto the stereo's FM connector. Connecting a 300-Ohm FM Antenna Press the supplied adapter onto the antenna cable. Then secure the adapter's leads to the stereo's FM terminals. Note: If the stereo has push-type antenna terminals, cut the spade lugs off of the transformer and remove about 1/4 inch of insulation from each lead. Then connect each lead to a push terminal. Connecting the AM Antenna Connect one of the antenna's AM leads to the stereo's AM antenna terminal. Connect the other AM lead to the stereo's ground terminal. Note: Some AM tuners get better reception if you do not connect the wire to the ground terminal. Connecting Power to the Antenna Plug the supplied power supply's phono plug into the antenna's power jack. Then plug the adapter into an AC outlet. Note: If your stereo has switched AC outlets that turn on when you turn on the stereo, we recommend you plug the antenna's power adapter into one of these outlets. (br/all-7/19/94)
