Your Radio Shack TRC-483 40-Channel 2-Way CB Radio is a high performance
CB that also lets you tune in to local and national weather service
broadcasts on all the latest frequencies.  This CB is perfect for 
recreational, business, or emergency use.  You can call other people who 
have CBs at home, in their vehicles, or at camp sites.  You can also 
connect optional equipment to your CB, such as external speakers to create
a PA system, or a DC power supply and base station antenna to set up a
base station in your home.

Your CB has the following features:

10-Channel WX Band Receiver - Includes all seven national weather
                              frequencies and three international ones.
                              You can hear local weather conditions and
                              forecasts wherever you travel.

PLL (Phase-Locked
Loop) Frequency Synthesizer - Provides reliable and exact tuning by using
                              a precise frequency-reference crystal.

        Two Ceramic Filters - Provide superior selectivity and freedom
                              from adjacent-channel interference.

    Rotary Channel Selector - Gives you maximum convenience when selecting
                              channels.

 Hysteresis Squelch Circuit - Compensates for fading signals and
                              eliminates signal chopping during reception.

     Automatic Noise
     Limiting (ANL) Circuit - Reduces noise caused by nearby electrical
                              equipment such as motors or automotive
                              ignition systems.

        LCD Digital Display - Lets you see the channel numbers you select,
                              incoming and outgoing signal strength, and
                              each mode you choose (such as Public 
                              Address, Weather, Emergency, etc.).

            RF Gain Control - Lets you adjust the reception to match the
                              strength of the received signal.

 Emergency Channel 9 Switch - Lets you quickly switch to Channel 9 to
                              report emergency situations.

  Public Address Capability - Let you use your CB as a public address
                              system when you add an optional PA speaker.

 Universal Mounting Bracket - Lets you mount your CB securely in your
                              vehicle or on a table or shelf in your home.

NOTE:  To use this CB, you must purchase a mobile or base station antenna.
       You local Radio Shack store has a wide variety of antennas.  For
       more information, see "Installing an Antenna."

       For your permanent records, we urge you to record your CB's serial
       number, which is located on the back panel of the CB.
