Mast-Mount Amplifier (150-1108) Operation Faxback Doc. # 7231 FM Trap If the TV picture contains wavy or herringbone patterned dark lines, move the FM trap switch to IN to reduce or eliminate this interference. If you have the amplifier connected to an FM set and a TV, set the switch to OUT when you listen to FM. Gain Control Adjust the gain control to provide the maximum signal amplification without overload. If your TV receives too strong a signal, the picture tears and becomes unstable. FM sound can become distorted. Turn the gain control toward the MAX setting for weak or distant stations. Rotate the control towards MIN for nearby or strong stations. AUTOMATIC PROTECTION CIRCUIT The amplifier contains circuitry to guard against damage caused by a short anywhere in the cable from the antenna to the TV set. A short between the antenna unit and the house unit causes the amplifier to shut down automatically, extinguishing the power indicator. If you locate a short, follow these steps to correct it. 1. Unplug the power cord and disconnect the suspected shorted coaxial cable. 2. Wait 10 minutes for the unit to reset. During this time, repair or replace the cable. 3. With the cable disconnected, plug in the house unit. 4. If the power indicator lights, unplug the unit, re-connect the cable, and plug in the power cord again. If none of the above steps correct the situation, take the unit to your local Radio Shack for service. (br/all-7/19/94)
