Video Switcher (150-1274) Controls and Functions Faxback Doc. # 7291 POWER Button - Press to turn the power on. The POWER indicator lights. Press again to turn power off. POWER must be on when using the Special Effects Switcher. There is no pass through signal when the powr is off. DURATION Control - Use to adjust the length of time required to complete an AUTOMATIC FADE-OUT and FADE-IN with a preset wipe pattern. The duration time is set for 0.5 second at the MINimum position. When you turn the control clockwise, it increases to about 4 seconds, at the MAXimum position. This control works only when the unit is in the automatic operation mode, with the MANUAL indicator off. MANUAL FADE Control - Controls manually a fade-in (wipe-in) and fade-out (wipe-out). This control works only when the unit is in the manual operation mode with the MANUAL Indicator lit. Press the MANUAL switch and turn the control counterclockwise toward OUT to fade out the picture and sound simultaneously. Turn the control clockwise toward IN to fade in the picture and sound. FADE A/B Switch - a. In the automatic mode, it performs a fade-out of the present source and fades in the other source. b. In the manual operation mode, use it to select the option of fading in the other source after the completion of a manual fade out. FADE Switch - a. In the automatic mode, pressing the switch once, fades out the present source. Pressing it again, will bring the same source back. b. In the manual operation mode, when the FADE A/B switch is not used, it fades in the same source after the manual fade out. Source Indicators - Light turns on to show which source VCR is being recorded. MANUAL Switch - Selects either the automatic or the manual operation mode. In the manual mode, the MANUAL LED lights and you can control the fade or wipe with the MANUAL FADE control. In the automatic operation mode, set the DURATION control for the desired length of time of a fade or wipe. SOURCE Switch - Press to select the source from the inputs connected to the A and B INput jacks. The source indicators, A and B, above the FADE A/B switch show you which source is presently selected. Each indicator flashes when its source is being faded in or faded out. Note: A one-frame flash on the screen will be seen as the unit switches sources, because the newly selected source is not yet locked in. Wipe Buttons - Use these four Wipe buttons together with the DIAG-H/V (DIAGonal-Horizontal/Vertical) Switch to create the desired wipe pattern. The LED above each switch indicates which switch is being used. The LED lights when the corresponding switch is active, and it flashes during the wiping process. Refer to "Wipe Patterns" for a variety of patterns created by these switches. DIAG-H/V Selector - Selects the mode for the wipe buttons. DIAG selects the diagonal wipes that proceed diagonally from corner to corner. H/V selects the wipes that proceed from top, button and sides. (br/all-8/10/94)
