Your Digital Book System will operate only when one or two digital books
are installed.  If you install only one book, it doesn't matter which book
slot you use.  Often, the Digital Book System is packaged with digital
books already installed.

1.  Turn the Digital Book System off.

2.  Insert the digital book into either slot on the back of the Digital
    Book System.

    Make sure the digital book's tab are aligned with the notches in the
    slot and that the book's metal contacts are facing down.

3.  Gently snap the digital book into the slot.

Warning  If you install digital books while your Digital Books System
         is on, information that you entered in those books could be
         damaged or erased.

Removing Digital Books

One advantage of the Digital Book System is that you can install and
replace digital books to suit your needs.  Here's how to remove digital
books.

1.  Turn the Digital Book System off.

2.  Using your fingernail, compress the digital book's tab while pulling
    the digital book from the slot.

WARNING  If you remove digital books while your Digital Book System is on,
         information that you entered in those books be damaged or erased.

Starting the Digital Book System

With digital books installed, you're ready to start using your Digital
Book System.

Don't worry if you forget to turn off the Digital Book System when you're
done.  It will shut off automatically after a few minutes.  And when you
turn it on again, it will usually return to the last display you saw.

1.  Press ON/OFF.

2.  To adjust the screen contrast, turn the control on the left side
    of the Digital Book System.

3.  If the screen remains blank, check the batteries.
