To use redial, lift the handset, press any line button, and press any line button, and press REDIAL. The redial memory number is replaced each time you dial a new number on each line. When the telephone redials, it uses the mode (tone/pulse) in which the number was entered, regardless of the current mode setting. You can use REDIAL to redial a number on a line other than the one you originally dialed it on by pressing a different LINE button. You cannot use REDIAL to redial a call from another extension phone. Each extension phone has its own redial memory. Note: After the phone finishes redialing you can dial more numbers. Additional entries are added to the redial memory, up to the 31-digit memory capacity. USING FLASH Many special phone services require a switchhook signal. The FLASH button provides the electronic equivalent of a switchhook operation. You must use your telephone's FLASH button for such signals because pressing down on the switchhook disconnects the call. For example, if you have call-waiting, take a second incoming call on the same line by pressing FLASH. Pressing FLASH again lets you alternate between calls. Notes: If you do not subscribe to call-waiting, do not press FLASH during a call. This might disconnect the call. FLASH entries are not stored in redial memory. USING TONE SERVICES WITH A PULSE LINE Some special services, such as alternate long distance or bank-by-phone, require tone signals for communication. If you have pulse service, you can still use these special tone services. Move the TONE/PULSE MODE switch to TONE. You can move this switch to the TONE position when entering a number for the special service. All digits that you enter after moving the switch are sent as tone signals. USING THE * and # BUTTONS You can use the * and # buttons in the tone mode with some special services. Check with your telephone company or any special service, such as bank-by-phone, for the functions of these buttons. Note: The * and # buttons have no function in the pulse mode. (LB/all-08/23/94)
