System 714 (130-1261) Remote Control Faxback Doc. # 7479 Using the remote control, you can control the system's power and volume, the tuner's automatic scanning, and the CD player's normal play functions. 1. Press POWER ON/OFF on the amplifier/cassette deck to ON. The STAND-BY indicator lights. 2. Press POWER ON/OFF on the tuner/CD to ON. The STAND-BY indicator lights. 3. Press STAND-BY on the remote control to put the system in the standby mode. The system's power turns off but the system responds to remote control commands. NOTE: To use the remote control, the system must be in the standby mode. 4. To turn on the system, press POWER ON on the remote control. The STAND-BY indicator lights. NOTE: To turn the system completely off, press POWER on the amplifier/ cassette deck. The system exits the standby mode and the power turns off. HELPFUL HINTS * When using the remote control, make sure the front end of the remote control is pointing toward the INFRARED REMOTE sensor on the system. the remote control works within a distance of about 18 feet in front of the system and within a range of about 15 degrees left and right of center. * Exposing the remote control to direct sunlight or strong lights such as a spotlight will reduce its operating distance or even make it inoperative.
