System 1035 (130-1255) Cleaning Faxback Doc. # 7486 CLEANING THE TAPE-HANDLING PARTS To prevent noise and poor high-frequency response, clean the system's tape-handling parts after every 20 hours of use. Before you clean the tape-handling parts, press STOP/EJECT to open the cassette compartment door. Use a cotton swab dipped in tape head cleaning solution or denatured alcohol to gently clean the capstans, pinch rollers, and tape heads. Tape head cleaning supplies are available at your local Radio Shack. DEMAGNETIZING THE RECORD/PLAY HEADS To prevent unwanted noise, remove residual magnetism from the system's re- cord/play heads after every 10 hours of use. Use a tape-head demagnetizer, available at your local Radio Shack store. CAUTION: Never touch the record/play heads with any kind of metal object. (tlc/all-8/31/94)
