System 1035 (130-1255) Speakers Faxback Doc. # 7488 CONNECTING SPEAKERS In addition to the supplied speakers, you can connect another pair of speakers. You can use either or both pairs of speakers using the selection switches on the front panel. Be sure each speaker has an impedance of at least 8 ohms. Your local Radio Shack store has a wide selection of speakers. Follow these steps to connect the supplied speakers to the System 1035. 1. Press the speaker terminal tabs labeled R SPEAKERS A on the back of the system. 2. Insert the stripped end of the right speaker's brown wire into the system's negative (-) terminal and lock the tab. Insert the stripped end of the right speaker's other wire into the system's positive (+) terminal and lock the tab. 3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for the left speaker. 4. Repeat Steps 1 - 3 to connect another pair of speakers to the SPEAKER B terminals. CAUTION: Do not let the bare speaker wires touch each other. This might damage the amplifier or speakers. SPEAKER PLACEMENT Use the following information to help you determine the best location for your speakers. You might want to experiment with several speaker placements. For the best stereo effect, place the speakers so the distance between them is the same as the distance between the listening area and the point halfway between the speakers. If the distance between the speakers is greater, you can improve the stereo effect by angling the speakers toward you. To increase the bass, place the speakers in the corner of the room, against the wall, or directly on the floor. To decrease the bass, move the speakers slightly away form the corner, increase the distance between them, and/or raise them 6 to 8 inches off the floor. You can purchase speaker stands at your local Radio Shack. (tlc/all-08/31/93)
