Trunk Mount Amplifier (120-1967) Operation Faxback Doc. # 7559 TURNING ON THE AMPLIFIER The amplifier automatically turns on whenever you turn on your radio/cass- ette player. POWER lights when the amplifier operates. SETTING THE LEVEL CONTROL LEVEL lets you adjust the level of audio signals that enter the amplifier. To adjust this control for the best performance, follow these steps. 1. Turn LEVEL fully counterclockwise. 2. Turn on your stereo system and turn up the volume about one-third of its full range. Turn on the ignition, if necessary to turn on the amplifier. 3. Turn LEVEL clockwise until you can hear the program. 4. Turn turn up the volume on your stereo system until the stereo begins to distort. Then, immediately turn down the volume to the point where distortion began. 5. Adjust LEVEL until the volume is at the maximum level you want the ra- dio/tape player to produce. 6. Adjust the stereo system's volume control to reduce the volume to a comfortable listening level. CAUTIONS: Never turn LEVEL up any farther than you need to get clear sound at 2/3 volume. When the amplifier's internal temperature reaches 202 degrees Fahrenheit, the Automatic Thermal Protection System lowers the amplifier's output power until it cools down. The sound distorts if any output channel shorts. Turn off the amplifier and try to locate the short. (tlc/all-09/15/94)
