System 719 (130-1266) Tuner Faxback Doc. # 7566 USING THE TUNER You can tune to a radio station using manual, automatic scan, or memory tuning. NOTES: If FM stereo reception is noisy, press BAND. STEREO disappears from the display. The sound is no longer in stereo, but the reception improves. To return to stereo, press BAND again until STEREO appears on the display. When you turn off the power, the System 719 memorizes the last station you tuned. Then, the next time you turn on the power, the tuner tunes to that station. MANUAL TUNING Follow these steps to manually tune to a station. 1. Press TUNER to select the tuner. The TUNER indicator on the stereo pre-amplifier lights. 2. Press BAND until the desired band (AM, FM STEREO, or FM) appears on the display. 3. Press AUTO/MANUAL until AUTO SCAN disappears from the display. 4. Press TUNING \/ or TUNING /\, until you tune to the desired station. NOTE: You can press and hold \/ or /\ for fast tuning. AUTOMATIC SCAN TUNING Follow these steps to automatically tune to a station. 1. Press TUNER to select the tuner. The TUNER indicator on the stereo pre-amplifier lights. 2. Press BAND until the desired band (AM, FM STEREO, or FM) appears on the display. 3. Press AUTO/MANUAL until AUTO SCAN appears on the display. 4. Press TUNING \/ or TUNING /\. The tuner automatically locks on to the next strong station. 3. Press AUTO/MANUAL until AUTO SCAN disappears from the display. MEMORY TUNING You can store 10 AM and 20 FM stations so you can quickly tune to them by selecting the band (AM or FM) pressing MEMORY STATION \/ or /\ on the multi-component system (or PRESET \/ or /\ on the remote control). 1. Press TUNER to select the tuner. The TUNER indicator on the stereo pre-amplifier lights. 2. Press BAND until the desired band (AM, FM STEREO, or FM) appears on the display. 3. Manually tune to a station you want to store (see "Manual Tuning"). 4. Press MEMORY. A memory location number and MEMORY flash on the display. 5. Press MEMORY STATION \/ or /\ on the stereo tuner (or PRESET \/ or /\ on the remote control) to sequence through the memory locations until the desired memory location number appears on the display. NOTE: You can press and hold MEMORY STATION \/ or /\ on the stereo tuner (or PRESET \/ or /\ on the remote control) to sequence through the memory locations faster. 6. Press MEMORY. The tuner stores the channel into the selected memory location. 7. Repeat Steps 3-6 to store up to 10 stations in the same band. Repeat Steps 2-6 to store up to 10 stations in the other band. NOTE: This system holds the stored stations in memory for 24 hours if you unplug the AC cord or if a power failure occurs. RESETTING THE TUNER'S MEMORY If the tuner's display locks up or does not work properly, you might have to reset the tuner's memory. CAUTION: Reset the tuner's memory only when you are sure it is not working properly. Resetting the tuner's memory clears all stored preset stations. Follow these steps to reset the tuner. 1. Press POWER to turn off the power. 2. Disconnect the AC power cord from the AC outlet. 3. Press RESET for at least 3 seconds. 4. Press POWER to turn the power back on. (tlc/all-09/15/94)
