EC-344 (650-0861A) Using the Security Code Faxback Doc. # 7573 The security feature lets you block unauthorized access to directory records and schedule alarms. Once you set the security code, all the directory records and schedule alarms are automatically locked. You must enter the security code before you enter or recall a directory record or schedule alarm. After about 4 minutes of non-use, all the directory records and schedule alarms will be automatically locked again. You must enter the security code again if you want to enter or recall a directory record or schedule alarm. Setting the Security Code 1. Press CLOCK SYMBOL. 2. Press LEFT KEY. LOCK and ENTER ---- appear. 3. Enter the desired four-digit security code. Notes: Do not enter 0000 since this code cancels the security function (see "Cancelling the Security Feature"). Be sure you enter a security code that you can remember. If you forget the security code, you will need to reset the EC-344 to clear all the data you previously entered before you can enter and access any new data. 4. Press ENTER. The display shows the current time and date display and LEFT KEY to indicate that all directory records and schedule alarms are locked. When you press ROLODEX SYMBOL or CALENDAR SYMBOL after you lock the EC-344, CONTACTS or SCHEDULE, LEFT KEY LOCKED and ---- appear on the display. You must enter the correct security code to get access to your directory records or schedule alarms. Changing the Security Code 1. Press CLOCK KEY while the EC-344 is locked. LEFT KEY appears on the display. 2. Press LEFT KEY LOCKED, and ---- appear. 3. Enter the current security code, LOCK, and ---- appear. 4. Enter the new four-digit security code. 5. Press ENTER to store the new security code. Canceling the Security Feature 1. Press CLOCK KEY. 2. Press LEFT KEY. LOCKED and ---- appear. 3. Enter the current Security code. 4. Enter 0000. 5. Press ENTER. The current security code is canceled. If you want to block unauthorized access to your EC-344, set the security code again (see "Setting the Security Code"). (br/all-9/15/94)
