Follow these steps to replace the battery.

1.  Press CLOCK SYMBOL if necessary to display the current date and time.

2.  Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws on the battery
    compartment cover, and remove the cover.

3.  Remove the old battery, and install the new one with the positive (+)
    side facing up.

    Warning:  Never leave a dead, old, or weak battery in the EC-344.  It
              can leak chemicals and corrode or damage the electronic
              circuits.

              Always dispose of the old battery promptly and properly.

              Never burn the battery.

              Do not allow children to play with the battery.  It can be
              harmful or fatal if swallowed.

              Use only a fresh replacement battery of the required size
              and type.

4.  Replace the battery compartment cover.

    After replacing the battery, you will need to re-enter the key tone,
    current date and time, daily alarm time, and the daily alarm.
