40 Watt Equalizer/Booster (120-1955) Operation Faxback Doc. # 7577 TURNING ON THE EQUALIZER/BOOSTER First, turn on your radio or tape player and set volume to a low level. Press the POWER button in to turn on the Equalizer/Booster. The indicator LED will light up and the sound level from the speakers will increase significantly. Re-adjust the volume control on your radio or tape player for a suitable level. EQUALIZER SLIDE CONTROL Make sure the car stereo player tone or Bass and Treble controls are set to flat or center position. Slide the seven Equalizer controls up or down to accent or attenuate each of the designated frequency bands. This means you can adjust the sound precisely to match your vehicle's acoustics. Setting a control in the center detente position (O) provides a "flat" response for that particular tonal range. When the Booster's POWER button is pressed out, the Equalizer controls have no effect on the sound. FADER CONTROL Turning the FADER knob counter-clockwise brings up the level of the front speakers and lowers the level of the rear speakers. Turning the FADER knob clockwise has the opposite effect. CD INPUT Use an extension cable with 1/8" stereo mini phone plugs at both ends. Plug one end into the head phone jack of the portable CD player and the other end of the cable into the CD input jack on the front panel of the Equalizer/Booster. In this case, the radio/cassette signal will be terminated and only the CD signal feeds into the Equalizer/Booster. Turn on the portable CD player and adjust the volume control of the portable CD for your listening preference. If you want to return to radio/cassette, just unplug the mini phone plug from the front panel. (br/all-9/19/94)
