Two or four AAA batteries. Two AA and two AAA batteries. 1. Open the battery chamber cover. 2. Place batteries in either or both battery chambers, as indicated by each chamber's polarity symbols (+ and -). Note: You cannot charge only one battery at a time. Both slots in either side must be filled or the charger will not turn on. 3. Close the battery chamber cover. 4. Pull out the charging plug from the back of the charger or you can press upward on the tab above the charging plug to make the plug pop up. Then insert the plug into an AC outlet. The indicator for each filled battery chamber turns on to show that the batteries are charging. Notes: It is normal for batteries to become warm while charging. If the indicator for a filled battery chamber does not turn on, unplug the charger, remove the batteries, and clean their contact surfaces by wiping them with a soft, dry cloth. Then reinstall the batteries and plug in the charger. If the problem persists, either the charger or one of the batteries you are trying to charge is faulty. Contact your local Radio Shack store for assistance. 5. Unplug the charger after about 7 hours, and remove the batteries. (LB/all-09/22/94)
