SCP-32 (140-0600) Operation Faxback Doc. # 7780 LOADING A CASSETTE 1. Press [STOP/EJECT] to open the cassette compartment. 2. Place a stereo (or mono) cassette in the compartment with the tape facing downward. 3. Close the cassette compartment. Press [STOP/EJECT] to open the compartment and remove the cassette. PLAYING A TAPE 1. Press [TAPE SELECT] to the NORMAL or METAL position, according to the type of tape you are using. 2. Press [DOLBY NR] to the in position to play a tape recorded with the Dolby NR system. 3. Press [AUTO REVERSE MODE BUTTON] to select one time or continuous auto-reverse play. 4. Press [PLAY]. The TAPE DIRECTION indicator lights. If you press [DOLBY NR] to the in position in Step 2, the DOLBY NR indicator now lights. 5. Adjust the volume control on your receiver/amplifier to the desired level. To wind the tape rapidly in either direction, press [STOP/EJECT]. Then, press [<<] or [>>]. To resume play, press [STOP/EJECT]. Then press [PLAY]. Press [PAUSE] to stop tape play temporarily. To resume play, press [PAUSE] again. Press [DIRECTION] to change the direction of tape play. this lets you listen to the opposite side of the tape without waiting for the auto- reverse function to operate. Press [STOP/EJECT] to stop the tape at any point. To open the cassette compartment and remove a cassette, press [STOP/EJECT] again. SELECTING THE TAPE You can play standard, high-bias (CrO2), or metal tapes. Press [TAPE SELECT] to the CrO2/METAL position to use high-bias (CrO2) or metal tapes. Press [TAPE SELECT] to the NORMAL position for standard tapes. USING DOLBY NOISE REDUCTION Dolby NR prerecorded cassettes are widely available. Played on your cassette player, these cassettes give you outstanding music reproduction with a minimum of tape noise. To play a Dolby NR cassette, see Step 2, Playing a Tape. USING AUTO REVERSE You can select one-time auto-reverse, or continuous auto-reverse. The one-time mode plays one side and then plays the other side. Then, it stops. The continuous play mode plays one side and then the other alternately until you press [STOP/EJECT]. The TAPE DIRECTION indicator tells you the direction of tape play. NOTE: Auto-reverse does not function in the fast-wind mode. MANUAL REVERSE You can use manual reverse to change tape direction at any time so that you can hear the opposite side of the tape.
