SCT-7500 (140-0668) Preparation Faxback Doc. # 7801 WHERE TO PLACE YOUR CASSETTE DECK Avoid placing the cassette deck in a confined location or where objects obstruct the ventilation holes. Otherwise, the deck can get too hot and malfunction. Do not install the cassette deck on top of amplifiers or other components that become hot. CONNECTING TO A RECEIVER/AMPLIFIER The cassette deck includes the patch cords required to connect the cassette deck to your receiver/amplifier. NOTE: The names of the jacks on your receiver/amplifier might vary. For example, instead of tape in/out, the jacks might be labeled in/out or aux in/out. 1. Connect one of the patch cords between the cassette deck's LINE OUT jacks and your receiver/amplifier's tape-in jacks. 2. Connect the other patch cord between the cassette deck's LINE OUT jacks and your receiver/amplifier's tape-in jacks. 3. If you use an Optimus STA-5500 (Cat. No. 31-2106) or STA-7500 (31- 2107) receiver, you can connect the supplied DIGI-LINK cable to this SCT-7500 cassette deck's DECK PAUSE jack. Then you can use the receiver's remote control to pause TAPE 2. 4. Plug the cassette deck's power cord into a standard AC outlet. CONNECTING HEADPHONES You can use headphones to monitor the recorded signal or to listen to a tape during playback. Plug stereo headphones with a 1/4-inch plug (not supplied) into the PHONES jack. Listening Safely To protect your hearing, follow these guidelines when you use headphones. Set the volume to the lowest setting before you begin listening. After you begin listening, adjust the volume to a comfortable level. Do not listen at extremely high volume levels. Extended high-volume listening can lead to permanent hearing loss. Once you set the volume, do not increase it. Over time, your ears adapt to the volume level, so a volume level that does not cause discomfort might still damage your hearing. (ALL-10/5/94)
