Model 97 (160-0535) Inputs and Outputs Faxback Doc. # 7880 The CH.4/CH.3 switch and the TV/VCR and TU/AV buttons control the input and output signals of your VCR. This section explains how to select the channels your view and record. SETTING THE CH.4/CH.3 SWITCH Set the VCR's CH.4/CH.3 switch (on the back of the VCR) to CH.3 or CH.4, whichever is not an active channel in your area. When VCR appears on the display, the VCR sends the selected video source from its OUT TO TV terminal to the TV. The CH.4/CH.3 switch has no effect on the TV when the VCR is off, when VCR does not appear on the display, or if you are using a TV which has separate audio/video input jacks and which is set to the TV mode. USING THE TV/VCR BUTTON The Model 97's 181-channel (68 VHF/UHF channels, 113 cable channels) tuner is active anytime you turn it on. Press TV/VCR on the remote control so VCR appears on the display, and you can then use the VCR's tuner to select the channel you view. To select a channel with the TV's tuner, press TV/VCR so VCR does not show and set the TV to the TV mode. Whenever the VCR is on, the signals from the VCR are sent to the AUDIO/VIDEO OUT jacks, regardless of the TV/VCR setting. USING THE TU/AV BUTTON To choose a signal to record, press TU/AV on the remote control until the desired indication appears in the display window: a channel number for recording VHF/UHF signals, or AV for recording signals from the VCR's AUDIO/VIDEO IN jacks. NOTE: The TU/AV button has no effect during tape playback or when the VCR is turned off. (ALL-10/26/94)
