Pocket Vision-30 (160-0167) Operation Faxback Doc. # 7902 USING YOUR TV 1. Extend the rod antenna. 2. Set VHF/UHF to VHF or UHF. 3. Turn OFF/PICTURE OFF/TV to TV. The TV starts scanning and stops at the next active channel in the selected band. 4. Press TUNING < or > to tune to a different channel. The tuning line on the screen aligns with the selected channel number below the screen. 5. Adjust VOLUME. 6. Adjust the antenna for the best reception. 7. Adjust BRIGHT for the desired brightness. The brightness also changes with the screen's angle. NOTES: Press CH CALL (Channel Call key) to verify which channel the TV is tuned to. The tuning indicator (a green vertical line) will appear above the approximate channel number on the channel display. If reception is poor, adjust the length or angle of the rod antenna. If you are inside a metal or concrete building, moving closer to a window might improve reception. USING PICTURE OFF You can listen to the TV sound by setting the power switch to the PICTURE OFF position. In this position, the display is turned off and the tuning indicator does not display. NOTE: Adjust the TV's position for the best reception on the selected channel before setting the power switch to the PICTURE OFF position. USING THE TV AS A MONITOR You can connect an audio/video component to the TV's A/V IN jack. This requires a special cable (not supplied), available through your local Radio Shack store by special order (CMC 16-2324). NOTE: Do not use standard audio patch cords for this connection. The audio and video signals will be distorted. To use the cable, connect its yellow plug to the audio/video component's video output jack and its white plug to the component's audio output jack. Then, plug the cable's sub-mini plug into the TV's A/V IN input jack. NOTE: The TV cannot receive antenna signals when the cable is connected to the TV's A/V IN jack. BACKLIGHT In low temperatures, the TV screen takes a few seconds to light, or it might be slightly red in color. This is not a malfunction. Normal operation resumes after a short while. USING AN EARPHONE For quiet listening, connect an optional earphone with a 1/8-inch plug to the EAR jack. CAUTIONS: Set VOLUME to the lowest setting before you begin listening. Then, adjust the volume to a comfortable level. Do not wear the earphone while operating a motor vehicle or riding a bicycle. This can cause a traffic hazard and is illegal in some areas.
