SAFETY TIPS CAUTION: To ensure proper operation, please read this manual BEFORE OPERATING YOUR UNIT. Select the installation location of your unit carefully. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight. Also avoid locations subject to vibration and excessive dust, heat, cold or moisture. Keep away from sources of interference, such as transformers or motors. Do not use this unit where there are extremes in temperature (below 41 degrees F/5 degrees C or exceeding 95 degrees F/35 degrees C). Do not open the cabinet as this might result in damage to the unit or electrical shock. Be sure your hands are clean when handling discs. Never insert a disc which has a crack on its surface. Do not handle the power cord with wet hands. When disconnecting the power cord from the AC outlet, always grasp it by the plug. Never pull the cord. Do not use force when operating the switches and buttons. If the CD changer in the System 720 interferes with the operation of a separate tuner, switch off the System 720 while the tuner is being used. Before moving the system, be sure to disconnect the power cord and all connecting cables. To keep the laser pickup clean, do not forget to close the disc tray. Avoiding the hazards of electrical shock or fire: If a liquid is spilled into the unit, unplug the power cord immediately and have the unit serviced by local Radio Shack store. Do not drop metal or other objects into the unit. Needles, coins and other electrically conductive materials may cause problems if they get into the unit. Be certain to switch off the power and unplug the power cord when changing connections. This precaution is necessary to protect the speakers and other components, which can be damaged by a sudden increase in input level. If the unit malfunctions, NEVER attempt repairs yourself. Always request service at a local Radio Shack store. Wipe the front panel and other exterior surfaces of the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Stains should be removed by wiping the surfaces with a soft cloth immersed in lukewarm water and wrung dry. Never use solvents or alcohol. These chemicals will damage the finish. Immediately after the heat is turned on in a cold room. When the unit is used in a room where there is high humidity or where steam is being generated (such as near a kitchen). When the unit is moved from a cold room to a warm room. Under the above conditions, the unit may be unable to read the disc contents and operate normally. Remove the disc and allow the unit to adjust to the temperature in the room. Normal operation should be possible in approximately one hour. If dew has formed on the surface of the disc, wipe it off using a soft cloth. Wipe the disc from the inside to the outside. Do not wipe it in a circular motion. DANGER: When the enclosure is removed and the safety interlock is defeated or has failed, avoid direct exposure to the invisible laser beam.
