The powerhorn requires eight C batteries (not supplied) for power.  For
the best performance, we recommend alkaline batteries, such as Radio Shack
Cat. No. 23-551.

Follow these steps to install the batteries.

Note:  Be sure SIREN ON/OFF on the left side of the powerhorn's handle is
       set to OFF to prevent the alarm from sounding.

1.  Lift the battery compartment cover's latch and open the cover.

2.  Remove the two battery containers and take out any old batteries.
    Install four batteries in each container, as indicated by the diagrams
    on the containers.

Cautions:  Dispose of old batteries promptly; do not bury or burn them.

           Never mix old and new batteries.

3.  Reinstall the two battery containers in the compartment with the
    markings on the containers facing away from the handle.

4.  Close the cover and secure the latch.

Note:  If the powerhorn's sound weakens, replace the batteries with fresh
       ones.

Cautions:  Use only fresh batteries of the required size and type.

           Never leave dead or weak batteries in the powerhorn.

           If you do not plan to use the powerhorn for several days,
           remove the batteries.
