The Radio Shack TAD-540 is a high-quality telephone answering system with
touch-tone remote control.  The TAD-540 has Call Screen Plus, a unique
features that lets callers, who enter a special code ring the TAD.

This gives you extra privacy from unwanted calls.  The TAD-540's digitally
synthesized voice announces the time, day, and date of each message you
receive.

The answering system also includes these features:

Remote Operation and Security Code-lets you operate the TAD from any touch-
tone phone (or rotary phone with a pocket tone dialer).  The security code
helps prevent unauthorized remote operation.

Two-Way Record - Lets you record phone conversations.

Memo Record - Lets you leave memos for yourself or others.

Toll Saver - Lets you avoid unnecessary toll charges when you check your
             messages by long-distance.

Phone Pick-Up Detection - Automatically stops the TAD if you answer a call
                          after the TAD answers.

Variable-Length Announcement - Lets you record any length of outgoing
                               announcements, up to the tape length.

Digital Signal Processor (DSP) - Ensures clear recordings.

Announcements-Only - Gives information to callers without recording their 
                     messages.

Room Monitor - Lets you listen from a remote phone to the room where you
               installed the TAD.

Remote On/Off - Lets you turn the TAD on or off by remote.

Erase/Rewind Button - Lets you quickly erase the incoming message tape.

Call Screening - Lets you listen as a caller leaves a messages so you can
                 decide whether to answer the call.

Switchable Maximum Message Length - Lets you select 30 seconds or 3 minutes
                                    for the incoming messages length.

Switchable Ring Numbers - Lets you set the TAD to answer after about two or
                          four rings.

Memory Backup - Protects memory information, such as the message count, in
                case of a power failure.

Message Grouping - Saves you from listening to messages you have already
