The remote control is powered by two AAA batteries (not included). 
Insert the batteries as shown, making sure polarity is exactly as
indicated (+ to + and - to -).  For best operation and longest life, we
recommend you use alkaline batteries, such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-555.
Replace the batteries when operation becomes erratic or after about one
year to ensure continued good performance.
