Tandyfax 1505 (430-1216) Features Faxback Doc. # 8842 GENERAL DESCRIPTION Answering Machine Hook-up - allows most answering machines to be connected to this model for reception of both voice and fax messages on the same phone line. After a call is picked up by the answering machine, fax reception begins automatically if a fax tone or a set period of silence is detected. As a backup feature, this model will answer and issue a fax tone if a call is not picked up by the answering machine within 6 rings. Automatic Document Feeder - 8.5" wide feeder can accommodate up to 10 pages at a time for automatic feeding. Automatic/Manual Contrast - contrast is automatically adjusted during Control scanning to compensate for documents with light copy or dark-colored backgrounds. A manual contrast control is also provided to maintain legibility of copies from extra-light originals. Automatic Reception - suited for a dedicated fax line, whereby all calls are answered automatically by the fax unit. Setting is selected with the ANSWERING MACHINE/MANUAL/AUTO switch. Automatic Reception Backup - provides automatic reception on a line In Manual Mode where all calls are normally answered by an operator. If a call is not personally picked up within 6 rings, this model answers the call and begins reception. Automatic Fax/Phone - allows convenient sharing of one telephone line for fax and voice calls, whereby incoming fax calls are automatically answered by this model. Consultative Committee - provides compatibility with the Group 3 International Telegraph worldwide standard. Telephone (CCITT) GROUP 3 COMPATIBLE Copy Function - allows you to use this model as a convenience copier to make one copy of an original, or to make a test copy before transmission to determine if a particular mode key setting is necessary to improve reproduction quality. 15-Second Tranasmission - top speed that this model can transmit an Speed 8.5 x 11" average letter to another of this Model or GQ-60, UX-100, or UX 101 series, using Sharp's special compression scheme, the 9600 bps modem rate, and standard resolution. Extension Telephone - allows you to connect an extension phone to Function (Fax Transfer) this model so that fax calls, picked up at the extension, can be transferred to this model for reception. Halftone Control - areas on a document that contain photographs and shaded drawings are broken down into 165 levels of gray during scanning for transmission. Hold Key - used to place a call on hold when conducting a phone conversation on this model. Liquid Crystal Display - the 16 digit LCD provides prompts for each (LCD) procedure step when programming or operating the machine. Also provides alerts to the state of the machine. Manual Reception - when set with the ANSWERING MACHINE/-MANUAL/AUTO switch, all incoming calls must be answered by an operator, unless the auto backup feature is also selected with User Switch No. 2. On-Hook Dialing With - allows hands free dialing of any telephone number Monitor Speaker without using the handset. In order to speak with the other party, the handset must be used once a response is heard from the monitor speaker. Programmable Trans- - by programming User Switch No. 5, one of three action Report print-out conditions can be selected for this report. Options include: (1) ALWAYS PRINTS (2) ERROR PRINTS (3) SEND ONLY (4) NEVER PRINTS. Redial Key - used to redial the last telephone number dialed. Reports/Lists - a variety of reports are available for reference and troubleshooting. Standard/Fine - documents can be scanned and transmitted Resolution Settings in the standard mode for minimum phone line time and cost, or sent in the fine mode for best reproduction of documents with smaller copy or detailed graphics. Transmit Terminal - a 24 character name and 20-digit telephone number Identification (TTI) ID is added to the top of each transmitted copy, along with the page number.
