Infrasonic Alarm (490-0825) Operation Faxback Doc. # 8883 SETTING THE ALARM RECEIVER'S SENSITIVITY The alarm receiver has three levels of sensitivity-HIGH, MED, and LOW. We recommend that you set the HIGH/MED/LOW switch to MED at first. This prevents false alarms if your vehicle is exposed to strong gusts of wind. ARMING THE ALARM SYSTEM You can arm the alarm system from outside the vehicle. After you turn off the vehicle's ignition, close all windows and lock the passenger doors. Follow these steps to arm the alarm system. 1. Press and hold down the right button on the transmitter for about 2 seconds. The alarm's receiver chirps twice. Note: Each time you press a button, the transmitter's indicator lights. 2. Press the left button twice and the right button once within 4 seconds. The receiver chirps twice and 16 beeps sound for about 21 seconds as an exit delay if you are still inside the car. When the beeping stops, the alarm system's is armed, and the receiver's ARMED indicator light. Note: If the alarm receiver fails to chirp or beep, repeat the arming procedure. SILENCING THE ALARM If the alarm is activated, the alarm receiver sounds for about 1 minute and 15 seconds. You can silence the alarm before it automatically stops by pressing and holding down either button on the transmitter for about 2 seconds. Three beeps sound when the system disarms. Follow the procedure under "Arming the Alarm System" to arm the system again. DISARMING THE ALARM SYSTEM Press and hold down either button on the transmitter for about 2 seconds. The receiver chirps once when it disarms. Note: If the receiver chirps three times, the alarm was activated while you were away. (SMC/jlc-03/22/94)
