WIRING TO CONNECT TO VEHICLE BATTERY Follow these steps to power the CB from your battery. 1. Connect the white BATT (+) wire, with in-line fuse, to your vehicle battery's positive (+) terminal or to a point that supplies a constant 12+ volts, such as the vehicle's cigarette lighter or a point in the fuse box. This white wire supplies power to keep the last used channel in memory when you turn off your vehicle. 2. Connect the black BATT (-) wire to your vehicle battery's negative (-) terminal. 3. Connect the red wire, with in-line fuse, to an accessory terminal or source of voltage that turns on and off with the ignition switch. This wire supplies power to operate your CB. USING THE CB AS A BASE STATION Although we designed your CB for mobile use, you can also it as a base station. For this type of installation, you need the following: * 12-volt DC power supply (such as Cat. No. 22-120) * Base station antenna (such as Cat. No. 21-967). To use the CB as a base station, do the following: 1. Mount the antenna as described in its instruction manual. Warning: Use extreme caution when you install or remove a basestation CB antenna. If the antenna starts to fall, it go. It could contact overhead power line, contact with the antenna, mast, cable, or guy wires can cause electrocution and death. Call the power company to remove the antenna. D0 NOT attempt to do so yourself. 2. Connect the antenna to the ANT jack on the back of the CB. 3. Connect the red and white power wires to the positive (+) terminal of the DC power supply. 4. Connect the black wire to the negative (-) terminal of the power supply. 5.
