TRC-493 (210-1590) Optional Equipment Faxback Doc. # 8899 CONNECTING OPTIONAL SPEAKERS You can connect your transceiver to an external CB speaker or PA (public- address) speaker. CONNECTING AN EXTERNAL CB SPEAKER Any external CB speaker you use with the transceiver should have an impedance of 8 ohms and be able to handle 3 to 10 watts of power (such as Radio Shack Cat. Set CB/PA to CB whether you use the internal or an external CB speaker. Note: When you connect an external CB speaker, you disable the transceiver's internal speaker. CONNECTING A PA SPEAKER You can also connect a PA speaker to the transceiver and use the CB as a public-address system. The PA speaker should have an impedance of 8 ohms and be able to handle at least 5 watts of power (such as Cat. No. 40-1236). The speaker cable must have a 1/8-inch plug into the transceiver's PA SPKR jack. Set CB/PA to PA to use the CB as a PA system. (SMC-03/03/94)
