SETTING THE DATE AND TIME

The fax machine transmits the exact date and time, your station ID, and
your logo on every fax you send.  It also stores the date and time for all
faxes in the transmission journal.

1.  Press # then 1.

2.  Use the keypad to enter the month (two-digits), day (two digits), year
    (four digits), and time.  Press * for a.m. or press # for p.m.

    For example:

    to enter       Sept. 20, 1991 3:00 p.m.

    press          0 9 2 0 1 9 9 1 0 3 0 0 #.

If you make a mistake

    Press         <CONTRAST or RESOLUTION>
                  as needed to move the cursor
                  to the incorrect digit.
                  Then, enter the correct digit.

3.  Press         START/ENTER.

SETTING YOUR STATION ID

The station ID prints at the top of every page you send.  Plus, when you
send a document to a fax machine that also has a station ID display, your
ID appears on that machine's display.  When you receive documents, the
sender's station ID (if the sender has a station ID) appears on your
display.  We suggest you use your fax machine's telephone number as your
ID, although you can use any number up to 20 digits.

To set your Station ID, follow these steps

1.  Press          # then 2.

2.  Use the keypad to enter the desired ID.
    Press          DIAL TEL/SPACE to enter a space.

    Example:       8 1 7  DIAL TEL/SPACE 5 5 5  DIAL TEL/SPACE 2 6 3 8

    If you make a mistake
    press          <CONTRAST  or RESOLUTION>
    as needed to move the cursor to the incorrect digit.

    Then, enter the correct digit.

    If the ID number is longer than 15 digits, the display clears when you
    enter the 16th digit, and shows only the 17th and any higher digits.
    To look at the first 16 digits, repeatedly press <CONTRAST.

3.  Press          START/ENTER.

SETTING YOUR LOGO

Your logo prints at the top of each page you send.  The logo can be up to
25 characters long.

To set your logo, follow these steps:

1.  Press          # 4.

2.  Enter the character code for each letter, number, or symbol you want in
    your logo.  You must press # between each two-digit code.

    Example:       TANDY

                   2 9 # 1 0 # 2 3 # 1 3 # 3 4 #

    Each time you enter a character code, o and the two-digit code for the
    character you enter appears on the display.

    Press          DIAL TEL/SPACE

                   to enter a space.

    If your logo is more than 13 characters long, the display clears when
    you enter the 13th character, and shows only the 14th and any higher
    digits.
                   To look at the first 13 characters,

    repeatedly
    press          <CONTRAST.

3.  Press          START/ENTER.

    The fax machine prints your logo for confirmation
    and returns to standby mode.

SETTING THE DIALING MODE 

This fax machine is preset for touch-tone dialing.  If you have pulse
dialing service, you must set the fax machine for pulse dialing.

If you do not know what type of service you have, lift the handset and
press any number key other than 0 (OPER).

If the dial tone stops after the tone, you have touch-tone service and you
can leave setting as it is.  If the dial tone continues, you have pulse
-dialing service and you must set the fax machine for pulse dialing.

To set the machine for pulse dialing, follow these steps:

1.  Press          # then *.

2.  Enter          07.

3.  Press          2.

4.  Press          START/ENTER.

5.  Press          STANDBY/STOP.

    To set the fax machine back to touch-tone dialing

    repeat         Steps 1 and 2.
    Then,
    press          1 and repeat Steps 4 and 5.
