Remote Control (490-0875) Paging And The Page Button Faxback Doc. # 8933 Alarm System The pager has a range of up to 2 miles. This range varies according to the type of antenna and any obstructions between the vehicle and the pager, such as building or trees. To use the pager, set the power switch on the top of the pager to on. The pager beeps until you press RESET. You can use the pager to notify you that someone is breaking into your vehicle, someone in the vehicle is paging you, or that you need to change the pager's battery. * If someone in your vehicle wants to page you, they press PAGE on the indicator module. This sends a signal to the pager. The indicator module's red indicator flashes and the pager beeps to notify you. The system sends a signal for 25 seconds each time you press PAGE. * For notification in case of a violation, set the SIREN/BOTH/ALERT switch to either ALERT or BOTH. If the system is violated, the pager beeps to notify you. * To test the batteries, have a friend press PAGE on the indicator module as you move away from the vehicle. If the range significantly reduces after a period of time, replace the battery. You can also test the battery by pressing RESET on your pager. If it beeps steadily, the power is normal, but if it beeps intermittently, replace the battery. (SMC/jlc-03/22/94)
