Remote Control (490-0796) Installing Speaker Horn Faxback Doc. # 8943 Alarm System To mount the speaker horn, do the following: * 1. Select a location on the engine compartment's interior wall for mounting the speaker horn. Do not choose a place where you might drill into your vehicle's wiring or suspension system. Note: Do not mount the speaker horn where it will be subjected to water or extreme heat. * 2. If necessary, start the screw holes by drilling three 1/8-inch pilot holes into the mounting surface. Use the speaker horn's mounting bracket as a guide. * 3. Secure the speaker horn by inserting the supplied screws through the mounting bracket. Connect The Speaker Horn Wire Caution: Do not connect the speaker horn directly to power. Connect it only as instructed. It is not a siren. To connect the speaker horn with the control module, follow these steps. * 1. Route the speaker horn's brown two-conductor wires to the interior of your vehicle and to the control module's location. Note: Many vehicle's have holes for routing wires. If yours does not, drill a 1/4-inch hole through the engine compartment's fire wall into your vehicle's interior. Avoid drilling through any mechanism or wiring. * 2. Connect one of the wire's conductor's to the control module's Terminal 2. * 3. Connect the other conductor to the control module's Terminal 3.
