Use the following remote commands for remote operation.

(1) - Rewind/Backspace

      Press 1 to rewind the tape.  The TAD says, "Rewind."  During
      playback press 1 to backspace a few seconds of the tape.

(2) - Play

      Press 2 to play the incoming message tape from its current position. 
      The TAD says, "Play messages."  After the last message, playback
      stops and the TAD says, "End of messages.  Enter command."

(3) - Fast-forward

      Press 3 to fast-forward the incoming message tape.  The TAD says,
      "Forward."  The tape stops at the end of the last message.

(4) - Memo record

      Press 4 record a memo.  The TAD says, "Record memo."  After a
      long beep, speak into the phone.  After about 30 seconds, recording
      automatically stops. To stop recording sooner, press *.  After re-
      cording stops, a beep sounds, the TAD announces the memo number, the
      time, day, and date of the memo, and says "Enter command."

(5) - Announcement playback

      Press 5 to listen to the outgoing announcement.  The TAD says, "Play
      announcement."  Beeps sound as the outgoing announcement tape
      rewinds.  The announcement plays.

(6) - Announcement record

      Press 6 to record a new outgoing announcement.  Voice mail must be
      off for this feature to work.

      The TAD rewinds the outgoing announcement tape to the beginning,
      says "Record announcement," and sounds a long beep.  After the beep
      speak into the phone.  Press * when you finish recording.

NOTE:  If the outgoing announcement tape reaches the end before you press
       * during recording, the TAD sounds 8 beeps and says, "Error, End of
       tape."  Then it rewinds the tape to the beginning and says, "Enter
       command."

       If voice mail is on when you press 6, the TAD says, "Error, Voice
       mail on, Enter command."  Press # to turn off voice mail.  Voice
       mail remains off until you record a new voice-mail message.  See
       "Recording Voice Mail."

(7) - Room monitor

      Press 7 to monitor the room where the TAD is located.  The TAD says,
      "Monitor on."  After about 30 seconds, monitoring  automatically
      stops.  To stop monitoring sooner, press *.

(8) - Play Voice Mail

      Press 8 to listen to the voice-mail message when voice mail is on. 
      The TAD says, "Play voice mail."

NOTE:  If you press 8 when voice mail is off, the TAD says, "Error, Voice
       mail off.  Enter command."  Press # to turn on voice mail.  Then
       press 8 after the TAD says, "Enter command."

(9 )- Record Voice Mail

      Press 9 to record new voice mail on the outgoing announcement tape
      when voice mail is off.  The TAD says, "Record voice mail."  The new
      voice-mail message records over the current voice mail.

NOTE:  IF you press 9 when voice mail is on, the TAD says, "Error, Voice
       mail on, Enter Command."  Press # to turn off voice mail.  Then
       press 9 after the TAD says, Enter command.

NOTE:  If the outgoing announcement tape reaches the end before you press
       * while recording a voice-mail; message, voice mail turns on.
       (This could occur if the message is too long, or if you hang up the
       phone without pressing *.)  The TAD sounds eight beeps at the end
       of the tape, says, "Error, End of tape," rewinds the tape to the
       beginning, and says, "Enter command."  Press 9 within 7 seconds to
       re-record the voice-mail message.

(0) - Answer on/off

      Press 0 to set the TAD to answer calls or to not answer calls.  The
      TAD says, "Answer on" or "Answer off" when you press 0.  If you set
      the TAD to not answer calls by pressing 0, you can still set the TAD
      to answer calls by calling the TAD.  See "Remote Answer-On."


(*) - Stop (or to hear the remote control command menu when the TAD is
      stopped)

      Press * to stop the current function or to hear the remote control
      command menu.

(#) - Voice mail on/off

      Press to turn voice mail on or off.  The TAD says, "Voice mail on"
      or "Voice mail off"  when you enter the command.

      When voice mail is off, the voice-mail message do not play.  When
      you record a new voice-mail message, voice mail automatically
      turn on.
