TandyLink Adapter (260-5601) DRIVER 8530 Faxback Doc. # 9003 The TandyLink adapter with driver DRVR8530.COM dated 7/16/90 gives no feedback to the user whether it fails or succeeds in the installation task. This date of the driver is the only one that works with LANTastic. Older TandyLink drivers give feedback concerning success or failure of the installation. The driver included in the Tandy 1000TL/2 ROM should not be used. When installation parameters are changed, command line parameters must be used to tell the driver what the new settings are. These parameters are documented below. When using LANTastic, the DRVR8530 file should be installed in the network directory, usually C:\LANTASTI and the batch file STARTNET.BAT needs to be edited to reflect the new settings if they have been changed. If the adapter is set at defaults, no editing is necessary. All command line options are preceded by the "/" character. Options may be entered in any order. The command line parameters are as follows: Option Default Range /Axx - Node Address Random (0-FE) 2 Digit Hexadecimal Number /Ix - Interrupt IRQ2 IRQ2 , IRQ3 /Dx - DMA Channel 1 1, 3 /Pxxx - Port Address 398 310, 318, 350, 358, 390, 398, 3D0, 3D8 /F - Baud Rate Fast (768K Baud) /S (230K Baud) Slow (230K Baud) /Bxxxx - Transmit Buffer 258H Up to 4 Hexidecimal Size Numbers 0 - FFFFH /Mxx - Number of Receive 6 2 Digit Hexidecimal Number Buffers 0 - FFH Example: DRVR8530 /F/I3/D3/P390/M0A Settings for 768K Baud using IRQ3 and DMA3 at port address 390 with 10 receive buffers.
